Thanks to funding from the Henry Smith Charity, the Collyer Fergusson Foundation and the National Lottery Community Fund in early 2023 we were able to work with a team of prisoners in HMP Rochester – training them to convert a delivery van into a modern campervan. Through the programme the participants developed new work skills, new technical skills, improved confidence and optimism and improved chances to avoid offending on release.

HMP Rochester want us back in to work with more of their prisoners, so we are looking for more funding and hope to be able to build a fleet of campervans we can rent out in order to make the CON-Versions project self-sustaining.

Plus, true to our roots we want to spin the project out and make it a new user-led social enterprise. That’s our 5-year target.
